Brief

Today’s society is obsessed with recreating looks and styles of the past whether it be fashion, music, film etc. My creative portrait is going to focus on a rising trend that has always been sitting around slowly getting more and more popular as a choice for themed occasions. My idea is to have an actress from an up and coming movie Masquerade posing in her full costume promoting the release of the box office hit and the return of Masquerade themed balls, parties and events.
I got this idea by simply watching a random movie on TV which I found out was remade recently but used the same styling for the costumes and sets.

 The props I need for this shoot were:

-          A couch

-          A mask

-          A dress

Equipment I need:

-          Backlight

-          1 Softbox

-          1 Tungsten

-          Black Background

-          A step

-          Orange/Red Extension cord

-          Red power box

-          Light meter

Portrait Assignment Brief

Business Portrait Inspiration

I like the backgrounds in business portraits, however the backlighting on the studio walls behind the models head also interest me.

          

Group Photo

My idea for my group shot was to get a few (2 or 3) people from a Karate school in poses lit from the front and also have backlighting on a black background as their uniforms are white and this will separate the subjects from the background.

           

Good Weekend Magazine

My idea for the magazine photo is having a Masquerade theme with one girl and one guy for an upcoming Ball. Both will have masks and be dressed as if they are about to attend this ball. It will be like the cliché boy meets girl at the ball type photo with the passion inbetween them and time running out.

I will have low soft lighting and a night time feel to the photo. I am currently looking for a background texture I can hang over on of the studio walls, this may be wallpaper (not sticking it to the wall just hanging). I may have a portable street lamp to set the photo as tho it is outside. The masks might only be half face masks so you can see half of the models faces for expression.
